Crude Oil Outlook: Mexico

Crude Oil Outlook: Mexico

$ 200.00

Mexico produced about 1.9 million b/d of crude oil (including condensate) in 2017, down from 2.6 million b/d in 2011. This declining trend will continue in the short term due to the natural decline of existing fields and lack of identified new sources of growth. The production plunge will be mitigated after 2020, when new offshore projects start production. Total output is expected to see a short term peak at around 2028 when unconventional shale development picks up.
